After a month of auditions by 80 bands, nine local acts have been selected to share the stage with international acts Feeder and The Brian Jonestown Massacre at the Rockit Festival this weekend.

With styles ranging from hip-hop to punky Canto-pop, the bands represent the cream of a new generation of local acts, and audiences can look forward to hearing some original sounds.

SATURDAY

From 3pm, the following local bands will perform alongside main acts The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Joris Voorn, Qui Hong, Soler, Uptown Rockers and Shotgun She-Ras:

Ghoststyle

A rising force in the local hip-hop scene, Ghoststyle (Brandon Ho) is a man with unruly talents and remains the voice behind Hong Kong's first locally produced English-language rap album. He writes and produces his own music, is the founder of Rebel Studio and is now working on his fourth album. After recent workouts with DJ Godfather, basketballer Lebron James and local producer Dan F, the homies had better watch out.
