MY quinellas are having a lot more luck this season than my best bets so, like all good football teams, I'm going to play to my strengths. Today's best quinella looks to come in the eighth race where it will be surprising if a triangular quinella - that's a total of three bets for the uninitiated - comprising the following selections, Gold Capture, Green Maple and Winning Stallion should pay dividends. Gold Capture has won twice as he liked for the Danny Lee-Peter Ng Bik-kuen combination and is shaping up into a very nice prospect indeed. He has jumped 12lb in the ratings for his last start win but he really did hit the line with his head in his chest and shows so much speed that the drop down in distance to a mile should not be a problem. In contrast, David Hill's Green Maple should be suited by the move up to a mile and is likely to stay even farther in time. He was doing all his best work at the finish when scoring in progressive fashion over 1,400 metres last time and I understand that his work with Muhim on Thursday morning was most impressive. The dark horse could be Winning Stallion who has put in three good runs already this season and has enjoyed a short break. which should have freshened him up nicely for this.
