Stage artist Jim Chim Sui-man will return as the favourite children's comedian in Theatre Ensemble's Christmas production The Legend of Na Ja.

Directed by the troupe's associate artistic director Olivia Yan Wing-pui, the musical - which incorporates elements from Chinese folklores, fairytales and music - follows the adventure of

Na Ja, an arrogant little rascal who embarks on a magical journey to look for his father.

'In reality, the role of a father is to work continuously to put food on the table. All responsibilities of communicating with the children are left to the mother,' Chim said.

'We want to focus on the relationship between a father and his child in our show. It is the story of an orphan looking for his father.'

Renowned for their children's theatre productions and artistically challenging projects, Theatre Ensemble will be giving away 400 tickets to The Legend of Na Ja to underprivileged children and their parents.

Earlier this month, the troupe also launched their Weekend Theatre programme, which

aims to bring happiness to underprivileged children by staging a free children's drama on every Saturday or Sunday at the Hong Kong Arts Centre.

The theatre group said it hopes to stage 30 shows for about 5,700 children and parents. Call 2421 6176 if you wish to donate to the programme.

The Legend of Na Ja will be staged at the Hong Kong Arts Centre from December 10. Visit www.theatreensemble.com for more information or call 2734 9009 for reservations.
