California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger made a whirlwind visit to Beijing's prestigious Tsinghua University yesterday, encouraging students to pursue their dreams.
Mr Schwarzenegger said his personal experience was the success story of an individual who kept his dreams.
'Keep your dreams no matter what, keep your dreams,' he told more than 300 students.
Mr Schwarzenegger praised China's remarkable achievements and said the US would also benefit from the nation's rise.
'I often read that China's economy is likely to become the largest in the world over the next 50 years. This does not mean that America will get poorer. It means that China will get richer,' he said.
'The US will benefit from China's progress as much as the US benefited from that of Western Europe after the second world war.
