THE HORIZON SUITE Hotel has allocated more serviced suites for short-staying packages to capture stronger demand from the growing number of tourists and business travellers.
Peter Tam, senior sales manager of Horizon Concept, which operates the hotel in Ma On Shan, said it maintained an appropriate mix of serviced suites for daily hotel operation and long-staying guests in response to market demand.
He said the split between short-stay and long-stay lease packages in the 831-room hotel was being fine-tuned continuously to cope with guests' needs.
Demand for daily accommodation was particularly strong in recent weeks with strong tourism and the arrival of more business travellers to conventions, exhibitions and trade fairs, and therefore more suites in the hotel were allocated for short-staying packages than in the past, he said.
'At present, we have a ratio of 40:60 between short-staying and long-staying packages, compared with about 30:70 earlier. I expect that November and December will continue to be a high season for tourist arrivals, which will drum up demand for short-staying accommodation,' he said.
Short-staying packages in Horizon Suite Hotel refer to leases on a daily basis and up to two weeks, while long-staying accommodation means leases of one month and more.
All rooms are suites with two or three bedrooms with unit sizes ranging from about 670 sq ft to 1,100 sqft.
