With tomorrow's concert ticket stub you can also catch part of the 3rd Hong Kong Synergy 24 Drum Competition Final Round on Saturday afternoon for free. The event is also organised by the HKCO.

The highlight of Dragon in the Sky - named after the work An will perform with the Shaanxi Percussion Group especially for this concert - is a piece titled Cang Cai. Originally composed by Tang Jianping for a western orchestra, it was well received when Li performed it on tour in Europe in 2003.

An is not only a National Class One Instrumentalist but a composer. He's the recipient of the China National Music Orchestra Society's Life Achievement Award in Chinese Folk Music (2003) and was named Outstanding Artist with Exceptional Achievements by the Ministry of Culture of China. His compositions are known to be rich in diversity and content, as well as original in techniques and style.
