Just to get you into the Christmas spirit, Pacific Coffee has designed a special winter spice latte - a drink made with white chocolate with a hint of gingerbread.
From the sale of each latte, $5 will be donated to Operation Santa Claus. It's fluffy, it's light, but with a creamy white chocolate taste with the spices of Christmas.
But apart from the winter spice latte, Pacific Coffee has also placed donation boxes for the campaign in all of their outlets and come up with a green way to raise even more money.
'We always pledge $100,000 to Operation Santa Claus,' said Denise Leicester, regional marketing manager. This year the coffee house is running a 'Mug of Hope' campaign in which customers can bring in their own mugs to hold their favourite drinks. This way they will do their bit for the environment by cutting down on the use of disposable mugs. As an added incentive, customers using their own mugs will get $1 taken off their bill, and $5 will find its way to Operation Santa Claus.
This is the ninth year that Pacific Coffee has supported the Operation Santa Claus campaign. Ms Leicester said more fund-raising events might also be planned next month.
'Planning for Operation Santa Claus is always a team effort,' she said. 'We begin the planning at least two months in advance. It's a real group effort. This year we wanted to do something different which is why we introduced the Mug of Hope campaign. Delivering hope with each mug.'
