The city was abuzz with military action yesterday with the rotation of PLA personnel and a media open day aboard the USS Kitty Hawk aircraft carrier.

The People's Liberation Army completed its eighth changeover of personnel since 1997 in a  ceremony (left). The rotation involved the helicopter squadron, navy and ground forces, but did not involve any change to the number of staff stationed in Hong Kong.

The USS Kitty Hawk and its battle group is the largest carrier strike group in the US Navy. Crews will take part in community events and do some sightseeing and shopping.
