The story 'Father jailed 12 years for sex with two daughters', which appeared on page 4 of the City section on November 4, incorrectly stated that defence counsel Robert Andrews 'offered no mitigation except for the man's otherwise clean police record, the fact the girls seemed to be recovering fairly well, and the public shame associated with his crimes'. In fact, Mr Andrews addressed the court on a number of other issues in an extensive mitigation. We apologise for the error.
