Citing the Tiananmen Square crackdown as an example of how public protests don't help the fight for democracy, property tycoon Sir Gordon Wu Ying-sheung said last week that if Hong Kong achieves universal suffrage through demonstrations, it will mean mob rule in the city.

Sir Gordon's not afraid to spark a little controversy, is he?

He's urging legislators to accept the latest government proposals on electoral reform and after that to 'take a little step, ask for more, take another little step and go, rather than shooting for the moon on day one'.

Is he known for taking little steps himself?

Not exactly. If anything, the 70-year-old Hopewell Holdings chairman is a living, breathing example of someone shooting for the moon with the biggest bazooka he can find.
