One of people's most common concerns about supplements such as St John's Wort is whether there are any side effects.

There have been reports of people suffering nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, tiredness, dizziness, skin rash and restlessness. In high doses, St John's Wort can also make the skin over-sensitive to sunlight.

For depression, the supplement is usually taken in capsule or tablet form, with recommended doses starting at 300-500mg, three times a day for mild cases. St John's Wort can also be taken as a liquid extract.
