More than 800 alumni of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), their friends and family members helped plant about 5,000 shrubs and saplings at Ma On Shan Park on November 20. The activity was organised by PolyU, the Federation of PolyU Alumni Associations and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. PolyU president Poon Chung-kwong said the event helped improve Hong Kong's environment while strengthening fellowship among PolyU graduates. The activity was kicked off by Secretary for Home Affairs Patrick Ho Chi-ping. Roadshow host Viann Liang Wai-ka, a PolyU alumnus, also sang with a group of young children at the ceremony.
