The first thing you notice about the new Olympus 6-megapixel SP-700 digital camera is the three-inch, 230,000-pixel liquid crystal display on the back. The screen size makes it easier to read the menu text and to use the monitor as a viewfinder when shooting. The monitor also allows several images to be displayed at the same time. A compare-and-shoot function allows users to compare the framing and composition of the last four images taken with the framing and composition of the next four images. A High-Speed Multi-Shot function enables users to shoot continuously at a speed of 30 frames per second. The camera then automatically arranges nine shots taken at regularly spaced intervals in the series in a single nine-frame image. This is useful for analysing a golf swing or capturing the movements of children and pets in a single multiframe image. Available in blue, silver and bronze. Price $3,380.
