Scot put off by woman who fails to heed calls to stop moving
Scotland's Colin Montgomerie is the main drawcard at this year's tournament at Fanling, although after he carded a one-under-par 69 for the first round no one dared look for an autograph.
Montgomerie had a double bogey at the par-five third hole and after missed birdie putts at the 17th, where a spectator put him off his stroke on the green, and 18th left him five shots off leader Kang Wook-soon of South Korea, he looked in far from the best of moods.
Needless to say, because of all this the assembled media were notlooking forward to meeting Montgomerie, and in his presence all behaved like schoolboys who'd just been brought up before their headmaster because they hadn't done their homework.
'Yeah I'm happy with the round. I had a seven at the third hole and if I had made a four there I'd have shot 66. But it's no big deal I've still got three rounds to go, three 65s and you never know,' Montgomerie said.
'Two over after three holes isn't a great start so it's nice to get back into red figures. But that's about it.'
Montgomerie then asked the reporters 'anything else lads?' and when the by now terror-stricken hacks made no reply, he continued, 'God you're quiet. We like you. Bloody hell this is great!' He continued: 'That is it for me, at the end of the day really, nothing much to report, you'd be far better talking about Kang [Wook-soon], [Rick] Gibson, [Jyoti] Randhawa or [Martin] Erlandsson.'
