Hong Kong racegoers will see some of the most famous names in world racing at Happy Valley on Wednesday night at the annual Cathay Pacific International Jockeys' Championship.
Five previous series winners will compete for this prestigious title and the $200,000 first prize.
In its eighth year, the Cathay Pacific International Jockeys' Championship is a favourite among racing fans and jockeys alike.
Every major racing jurisdiction is represented in what has become an exciting international event, befitting the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Races week.
The new attraction this year will be Australian Glen Boss, fresh from a history-making third successive win on champion Makybe Diva in the Melbourne Cup at Flemington in November.
The full list of participants and the countries they will represent are: Glen Boss (Australia), Shane Dye (New Zealand), Victor Espinoza (USA), Kieren Fallon (Ireland), Michael Kinane (Ireland), Weichong Marwing, (South Africa), Olivier Peslier (France), Christophe Soumillon (France), Andrasch Starke (Germany) and Yutaka Take (Japan). Hong Kong will be represented by five-times premier rider Douglas Whyte and current leading local rider, former champion apprentice Howard Cheng Yue-tin.
