truck driver badly hurt in highway collision
A truck driver, 45, was critically injured in a crash on the Fanling Highway, Lok Ma Chau, at noon yesterday. He was rescued by firemen after his vehicle was in a collision with another truck. He was being treated at North District Hospital last night. The other driver, 47, was unhurt.
Worker burned in underground blast
A worker suffered serious burns in a blast after an underground cable broke while he was digging at a roadworks site in Che Kung Miu Road, Sha Tin, at 2.30pm. The man, 47, was treated at Prince of Wales Hospital where he was in a serious condition.
woman pours acid on neighbour in jealous rage
A 57-year-old woman poured acid on a 47-year-old neighbour after accusing her of having an affair with her 70-year-old husband. The incident happened outside Sau Ming House in Sau Mau Ping at 7.30am. The victim was being treated for burns at United Christian Hospital.
