I NOTICE that smokers in Hong Kong are not aware of the harm their cigarettes can cause. Either that or they cannot exercise self-control. Despite government advertisements on TV on the harmful effects of smoking, many smokers still blow smoke in public areas, creating second hand smoke and causing harm to non-smokers. I understand people have the right to choose whether they want to smoke or not, but they should do it without disturbing others. In many public areas like cinemas and some fast-food shops, especially Mongkok's Kentucky Fried Chicken, the smell can be disgusting. I suggest the Government educate smokers on smoking in public areas. TSOI CHUNG-MAN Kowloon
