Socialite Mo Yuk-ping will be sentenced in the District Court next month after being convicted of manipulating the shares of her husband's former company.

After completing his reasons for his verdict, Judge Alan Wright adjourned the sentencing of Mo and two co-defendants to January 16.

He had found the 42-year-old socialite and her secretary, Chung Sau-ling, 30, guilty of manipulating the shares of listed Shanghai Land Holdings between June 2002 and May 2003.

Both Mo and Chung had pleaded not guilty to the joint conspiracy charge.

Mo's husband, Chau Ching-ngai, was chairman of Shanghai Land and Mo was the general manager at the time. Chau was jailed on the mainland for three years in June last year.
