Few unknown actresses have had the hype that surrounds Katie Leung, a Scottish- Chinese teenager who stars in the new Harry Potter movie.
The 18-year-old appears only briefly in the film - less than 10 minutes in total - and delivers just a couple of lines. But the significance of her character cannot be underestimated: she plays Cho Chang, Harry Potter's love interest.
Leung has been on a whirlwind world tour to promote Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which opens on December 22.
The Scotland-born teen has enjoyed shopping sprees with her famous co-stars and has been watched by millions of moviegoers in the US and Britain, where the film is a box office hit.
'I really appreciate going from being an ordinary school kid to being in a big movie. This is something that doesn't happen to everyone,' said Leung, who was recently in Hong Kong to promote the movie.
Leung's Scottish accent helped her to beat 5,000 girls for the highly coveted role of Cho Chang. The daughter of a Hong Kong emigrant, she lives in a district near Glasgow with her father and three siblings.
