A wide barrier hasn't scared too many early shoppers off Winning Bullet in the final event, with the promising John Size-trained gelding heading the betting at $41 despite having drawn gate 13.

The Zabeel son, to be ridden by Douglas Whyte, is out to make amends for his last-start defeat as favourite behind all-the-way winner Elegant King Prawn.

However, Whyte will have to call on all his renowned expertise after the four-year-old drew one stall from the outside fence in an event that has quite a bit of depth.

The promising types such as Best Power (Shane Dye) and Bold Win (Robbie Fradd) have drawn more favourably and shape as serious threats to Winning Bullet.

Best Power ($97) showed he was getting close to landing his first win with a smart third to Silver Sun last start, while Bold Win ($66) has turned in good performances in his only three starts and looks ideally suited by the rise in distance.

Whyte and Size have been the punters' pals this season, however, landing 22 wins from only 87 starts, at an impressive winning strike rate of 25.3 per cent cent.
