Like a spell that has lost its charm, the formula that made Carlos Santana Grammy winner has become weary. In his latest album, All That I Am, the veteran musician again uses his beautiful guitar work to highlight the vocals of famous singers, but with less appeal than before.

The 13 tracks showcase Santana's splendid guitar skills and features famous musicians from a wide variety of genres - such as soul singer Anthony Hamilton, hip-hop artist Mary J. Blige and heavy metal guitarist Kirk Hammett.

But nothing stands out as impressive, as all the songs sound familiar.

The album starts out strong with fiery Latin tracks Hermes and El Fuego, which are ideal songs for drawing partygoers to the dance floor.

Easy listening track I'm Feeling You, featuring Michelle Branch and The Wreckers, is destined to be a crowd-pleasing hit single.

Less successful is Trinity, which features the guitar work of Santana, Metallica's Hammett and funk musician Robert Randolph. Despite the trio's combined guitar talent, the track is bland and boring.
