Kirby Tsang, 17

Leo Ku. I appreciate that fact that he is not ashamed of  his high-strung temperament  and admits that he easily bursts into tears. He is an ingenuous man  who doesn't  try to  pretend to be someone he's not. He deserves  applause and respect.

Gerard Corrigan, 14

Green Day is a fantastic punk rock band whose catchy tunes - combined with humorous concert pranks - leave  listeners amused and entertained. Their controversial lyrics are powerful and at a recent show, lead guitarist Billie Joe  sarcastically recited the US Pledge of Allegiance and later encouraged the audience to stand up for their civil liberties.

My taste in music changes from time to time.  I currently enjoy listening to The All-American Rejects the most. They have a variety of genres which makes the  album appropriate for  any mood. I particularly like their song  It Ends Tonight because there is  a deep meaning behind it.

Raj Hiranandani, 15

3 Doors Down. I am more of a pop and rock person and  the band falls right into that category.  I  especially like their hit songs Kryptonite and  Let Me Go. The drummer is great, and so is the  guitarist. The lead singer has a great voice.

Simple Plan, because their  lyrics tell the truth  about life. I feel relaxed when I listen to them because of the emotion in the voice of the lead singer. My favourite songs are Shut Up and Welcome to My Life because their lyrics are meaningful and targeted  at teenagers like me.

Oliver Lodge, 17

British rock band Oasis. They  play creative and catchy music that  reflects the fact that they have a great deal of experience. After 11 years, Oasis' albums still top the charts and their stadium gigs sell  out within minutes. They remain one of Britain's most popular bands.

Sophia Haines, 14

Lynard Skynard. My favourite song  is Sweet Home Alabama because I have many memories attached to  it, one of them involving my best mate hopelessly trying to teach   me  to play it on guitar.

I eventually got it after four hours of continuous practice.

There are too many rock bands for anyone to have just one favourite. However, The Used is - without a doubt, - one of the most interesting bands I've heard. Not only do they have a distinct singing style,  but each of their songs are unique, creating a great mix.
