Schools have been celebrating the festive season with meaningful charity events to raise funds for Operation Santa Claus (OSC).
Last year, Canadian International School students designed their own Christmas cards and sold them to the community for charity.
The school re-launched the packs of festive cards this year. Talented student artists - ranging from reception grade to Grade 12 - designed the cards, which were popular items at the school's annual family fun fair held last month. The cards raised $10,000 for OSC.
At South Island School, students held a Christmas party on December 16 (left) to commemorate the festive season and celebrate the success of their fundraising efforts. During the party, each of the school's 14 tutor groups had to perform a Christmas carol, as did staff members. Money was also collected for OSC.
Meanwhile, Island School held a Christmas Room Decoration Contest two weeks ago to benefit OSC. Their efforts boosted total OSC contributions from schools to $182,000.
