In view of changes in Hong Kong's education system and the increasing need for creative subjects, the British Council is hosting its annual Education Festival (Edfest) in the next two months.

The festival started last week with the British Council's first Christmas Ball for UK alumni at Four Seasons Hotel.

It will be followed by a workshop and public forum for young scientists on January 16 and 17, during which the organisers hope to bring young scientists from Hong Kong and the UK together to explore topics such as building energy efficiency. A showcase of educational institutions from the UK for students aged six and above has been scheduled for February 11 and 12 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Prior to that, a symposium and seminar on vocational education and training will be held at the British Council headquarters, Admiralty on February 9 and 10, featuring guest speakers from Lewisham College, London College of Communications and local professionals.

To register for the training, visit www.britishcouncil.org.hk or call 2913 5100 for enquiries.
