Nikon Coolpix L1: There are few manual controls on the Coolpix L1 for advanced users, so you can't prioritise the shutter speed or aperture settings for different situations, such as sports or portraits. It does, however, come with a sizable 6cm colour display and an impressive 5X optical zoom lens, which few models in its category have. Its design isn't as fancy as some of its competitors, but it's small and offers the convenience of using two standard AA batteries. (Price: $2,590)
Creative Zen Vision: M: Not all that is white is an iPod. The Zen Vision M is a hard disk drive based player with 30GB of memory and a crisp colour display that closely resembles Apple's flagship player. In the tradition of previous Creative players, the Vision M also offers extra functions, such as a built-in radio, voice recorder and support for an assortment of music and video formats. It's nearly twice as thick as the iPod but is available in five colours. (Price: $2,380)
Fujifilm Pivi MP-70: If you've shot a lot of photos over the holiday season, then this might just be the perfect accessory. The Pivi MP-70 portable photo printer allows you to produce hard copies of your digital photos through an infrared port, which should make it very convenient for users of mobile phones and digital cameras that sport a built-in port. The Pivi MP-70, which prints out photos measuring 86mm x 54mm, is powered by a rechargeable battery. (Price: $1,560)
