Prebble appeals against ban

Jockey Brett Prebble has appealed to the Jockey Club against the decision of stipendiary stewards to suspend him for improper riding at Sha Tin last Sunday.

Prebble yesterday lodged notice of his intention to appeal against the stewards' finding, as well as the severity of the penalty (suspended for six meetings).

Racing secretary Marco Cheng last night said Prebble has been given a stay of proceedings pending the appeal and will continue to ride until the matter is heard.
