A veteran teacher and a secondary school student plunged to their deaths in Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun yesterday.

Lam Hang-hong, 54, a teacher at Ho Fung College in Kwai Chung, who had recently told his wife he was unhappy at work, leapt from his 12th-floor flat in Tsuen Wan Town Square, Tsuen Wan Market Street, before his wife woke up at about 6.30am. Lam was found lying on the third-floor podium and was declared dead at the scene.

He had worked at the school for more than 26 years, mainly teaching Form Five and Form Seven students.

'It is usual that every Form Five and Seven teachers have pressure, I don't think it was the major problem in this case,' said school principal Ng Sui-kou.

Mr Ng said Lam had health problems over the past few years and had undergone surgery for kidney stones.
