Not sure if it's a new fad, but demonstrations are certainly hot. Here's one this Sunday that will no doubt include quite a few long-hair types barking incessantly. However, luckily they will also be on all fours and a leash. A group of animal-lovers calling themselves the 108 Action Group is organising a 'Respect for life and anti-animal abuse' march starting at 2pm at Chater Garden, Central.
In light of several cases of abused kittens, the group argues: 'Animal cruelty laws in Hong Kong barely exist and lag way behind other developed countries. The government has done nothing, and has no immediate plans to make any changes. We need all people, pet owners or otherwise, who care about animals and their protection to join the demonstration.'
