Updated at 6.53pm: Police said on Wednesday they have charged a 24-year-old Indonesian woman with one count of infanticide. Infanticide is a crime universally reviled where people kill their babies deliberately ? sometimes because they did not want them. A spokesman said officers arrested the woman on Tuesday after a baby girl was found lying on the podium on the 2nd floor of Sau Fung House in Fung Wah Estate, Chai Wan. The baby, attached with part of the umbilical cord, was certified dead at the scene by ambulancemen. Detectives later located the woman in a flat in Sau Fung House and subsequently arrested her in connection with the death of the baby. The spokesman said the woman was due to appear in Eastern Magistracies? Courts on Thursday.
