Milan's away form has let them down this season, and Carlo Ancelotti's team face another high-profile examination at Roma tomorrow night.
Milan lost only three away games in the whole of the last two seasons, but already they have been beaten four times in nine away league games this season. Their below-average away form was emphasised by their Champions League defeat at PSV Eindhoven, their main rival in the group stage.
All of Milan's away defeats have come against high-class sides - against three of the top six, plus ninth-placed Sampdoria - and Roma (seventh) certainly fit into that category. However, Roma's home form is even less convincing than Milan's away record - they rank as the fourth-worst home side in Serie A. Milan look the likely winners but are not the safest bet on the road at the moment.
Alternatively Juventus and Inter have home bankers against Reggina and Cagliari respectively.
There are better-odds home bets on Fiorentina and Livorno however - the sides immediately behind the big three at the top. Fiorentina face a difficult task on paper against sixth-placed Chievo, but the Viola have a one hundred per cent home record bar last month's defeat against Juventus and they are the team to back.
Livorno probably should be shorter odds for their home game against Siena, who have earned most of their away points against the bottom six or poor home sides. Livorno have won six out of seven against teams outside the top six and should oblige.
