Stunning Li gets her second gold

MOVIE stuntwoman Li Fai's escapades earned herself - and Hong Kong - a second gold medal at the World Wushu Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, yesterday.

Hong Kong movie stunt star Li, confirmed her reputation as one of the world's leading exponents in wushu with another golden performance in the women's changquan competition.

Li had earlier won gold in the cudgel event and was third in the sword routine.

A marvellous display of skill gave Li a narrow victory. Scoring 9.40 points, Li edged surprise silver medallist Nguyen Thi Thung of Vietnam by the slimmest of margins - 0.01 of a point..

Japan's Momi Matsmura and Jennifer Yeo of the Philippines shared the bronze with 9.33 points each.

The 23-year-old China-born Li beat Malaysia's Ng Choo-hee by 0.003 points to win the cudgel earlier in the week.

Hong Kong coach Liu De said: ''I always thought Li had a very good chance of winning gold in changquan because she didn't really have any strong rivals to match her.
