A food expert who has excellent business sense is needed for a key post in the local hospitality industry. Aberdeen Marina Club is recruiting a director of food and beverage.

The person will run this department, and supervise stewarding, catering and restaurants.

The director will need to maximise profits, enforce quality standards and maintain high levels of staff performance.

The chosen candidate will also have to ensure compliance with the policies, standards and guidelines established by the club and its parent company, Shangri-La International.

'The successful applicant will manage, motivate and train the food and beverage department's employees, and implement the group's food hygiene and safety system,' said Ivy Cheung, director of human resources.

Marketing skills are necessary to make food and beverage events attractive, create the right kind of dining experience for customers, and achieve sales objectives cost-effectively.
