A WEALTHY businessman who operates several entertainment establishments in Tsim Sha Tsui was arrested yesterday and charged over his alleged links to the Sun Yee On triad. So Sai-lung, 50, is also a tournament judge with the Hong Kong and Macau Muay Thai Boxing Federation, of which Alex Tsui Ka-kit is chairman of the executive committee. Mr Tsui, a former deputy director of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), was sacked by his boss, Commissioner Bertie de Speville, earlier this month for undisclosed reasons. Police last night confirmed So's arrest and said he had been released on bail to appear in South Kowloon Court on Tuesday to face a charge of membership of a triad society. Following a 10-month investigation, Organised Crime and Triad Bureau officers earlier this month arrested a Mongkok gym owner who had organised an association tournament at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in June. The man, a former boxer, will appear in early January to face two charges of being associated with the management of a triad and holding the rank of a senior office bearer. The tournament involved sponsorship from several movie industry figures.
