What is it?

An anti-ageing treatment that uses concentrated Pevonia Botanica  products. It includes a hot, thick, caviar-based creamy mask.

Pevonia who?

Pevonia Botanica is a US brand -  it calls itself an elite spa-care line  - distributed through salons and spas globally. According to the company,  fans include Sharon Stone and Angelina Jolie.

What does the treatment involve?

A good cleansing,  then  layers of  the  Myoxy-Caviar  mask.  The ingredients include caviar, pearl extracts and Escutox, which the company has trademarked. It's  a kind of plant extract.

What's so special about the mask?

It aims to get circulation  going  in the cells, and repair tissues  and elasticity. Pevonia says it  can dramatically reduce facial expression lines and wrinkles.

Does it?

The skin  feels  clean afterwards, and has a glow for a  few days.  The wrinkles are  still there.  As masks go, it was a  relaxing experience - the layers are piled  on and feel warm.   The mask is simply peeled off.

The smell isn't of fish eggs,  is it?

Thankfully not.  It's quite a strong smell or herbs and flowers - perhaps not to everyone's taste.

What else does Pevonia offer?

There's a series of special mask treatments  - an Oxy-Vital mask  for sensitive skins and the Esthebuste  treatment, which  is said to be about 'turning back the clock for neck, bust and decollete'.

How much does it cost?

The Myoxy-Caviar treatment   costs $1,200 to $1,500 for 75 minutes. The price depends  on your skin type. The Oxy- Vital mask is $600-$800 for  60 minutes, and the Esthe- buste treatment is $600-$700  for 75 minutes.
