In a fit of grief, young Hiroko writes a letter to her once-fiance Itsuke, who died two years earlier in a mountaineering fall. She posts it to an address she finds in his high school yearbook. The love letter accidentally goes to a girl of the same name who happens to be her fiance's first crush. The girl replies and what follows is a series of playful and fateful coincidences. A relationship between the two develops as they share memories of the dead Itsuke. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the release of the film. Saturday, Feb 11, 9-11.05pm Gone With the Wind (Part 1) ATV World This landmark film, based on Margaret Michell's novel, masterfully recreates the siege of Atlanta City and the hardships of the South during the American Civil War. Vivien Leigh gives a stunning performance as Scarlett O'Hara who vows: 'I shall never be hungry again.' She is determined to protect her homeland regardless of the cost. Clark Gable plays Rhett Butler, whose love for Scarlett is not returned. Gone With The Wind, which won a then-record nine Oscars in 1940, as well as the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award for producer David O. Selznick, is probably the most memorable love story in film history. This is the colour-edited version which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the movie's world premiere. Sunday, Feb 12, 8.30-12.20am Pearl Harbor TVB Pearl On a sleepy Sunday morning in December, as children played and families prayed, squadrons of Japanese warplanes screamed across the skies of a Hawaiian paradise and launched a surprise attack on the US armed forces at Pearl Harbor. The infamous day that jolted America from peaceful isolationism to total war and altered the course of history is relived in this epic tale of patriotism, passion and romance. Pearl Harbor focuses on the war's devastating impact on two daring young pilots (Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett) and a beautiful, dedicated nurse (Kate Beckinsale). It is a tale of overpowering love set against a backdrop of spectacular war-time action. Monday, Feb 13, 8-9pm Trouble at the Top: Sainsbury's New Clothes ATV World The Bafta award-winning series is back, following more business ventures and their adventures in the struggle to make new firms succeed or to claw established companies back from the brink. Once Sainsbury's was Britain's favourite supermarket, but competitors have since stolen many of their customers. Hoping to win them back, Sainsbury's chief executive, Justin King, has appointed Richard Jones to head the clothing department. With the assistance of Tracey Hodgson, Sainsbury's head of clothing design, Jones is entrusted with grabbing a major share of the GBP35 billion ($474 billion) garments market. Sainsbury's lies in third place, behind Tesco and Asda. Can clothing help them close the gap? Tuesday, Feb 14, 3.30-4pm Between the Lions ATV World Between the Lions is named after a family of lions (parents Theo and Cleo and their two cubs, Lionel and Leona) who run an extremely unusual library. Not only is this library immune to budget cuts, but it's a place where books, words and story characters come magically to life. The library also is home to an over-worked (and underpaid) computer mouse, a couple of renegade pigeons and a bust of the library's founder, all of whom will help transform the process of learning to read into an entertaining adventure for young viewers. Wednesday, Feb 15, 8-8.30pm Crossworlds TVB Pearl Crossworlds visits the Norwegian capital of Oslo this week. The city is hosting the annual cross-country ski-fest, one of the biggest events of its kind in the world. Husband-and-wife team Joanna and Olger star in this week's episode. Joanna, from Singapore, and Olger, from Colombia, met while studying in New York. Coming from different continents, they say their marriage works because they are poles apart. Despite their differences, they claim to be a good team capable of facing any challenge. Our contestants join the ski-fest, and many a scream and countless fall later we find out if they completed the challenge. A Norwegian folk dance and a traditional dish are also featured. Thursday, Feb 16, 8.30-9.35pm Mr Penguin TVB Pearl Having devoted a large part of his life to taking pictures of emperor penguins, all that remains is to photograph them in a blizzard. But Bruno Zehnder dies while taking the shots. His body is found two days later, lying next to 'his' animals. The film retraces the life of the extraordinary man. After numerous voyages, during which he meets many of the world's big names, his first trip to Antarctica changes his life. He returns 21 times, with help from the Russians and the Americans - a relationship that will eventually provoke accusations of spying. The affection that his photos express and the care he uses to bring their images to the world bring Zehnder international recognition.
