Dr Carina Li yesterday urged all competitors to reveal their personal information on the back of their running cloths, saying it could save their life.

The cloth has a box where runners are encouraged to enter their personal data, such as allergies, contact details and next of kin.

'Very few runners bother to fill in this information, but if they do it might one day help to save their life,' said Dr Li. 'I would also like to remind runners they should immediately give way when they see emergency services vehicles on the race route, as every second counts when someone is in distress and is in need of urgent medical attention.'

About 400 people from the Auxiliary Medical Services team will be deployed to provide medical services tomorrow. They will be equipped with medical bikes to travel along the route for emergency services when required.
