A joint research institute has been set up by Polytechnic University and China's  Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science to promote  collaboration and technical exchange in engineering and management mathematics.

japan society offers scholarships

The Japan Society of Hong Kong is inviting applications for its annual scholarship programme from people aged 18 to 35 who plan to study in Japan. Preference will be given to people taking programmes relating to Japanese culture in higher, further or adult education - including martial arts and cookery. oxford brookes postgraduate aid

The Oxford Brookes University is offering scholarships for international students wishing to undertake a full-time taught postgraduate degree there. Five awards will be set at #3,200 ($43,296), four at #2,000 and six at #1,000, towards the cost of full-time international tuition. Application deadline  is  June 1. liverpool to reward attainment

The University of Liverpool is introducing attainment scholarships worth #1,500 for each year of study, available for the duration of the programme,  as long as the recipient passes the year of study on their first attempt with an overall average of at least 70 per cent. baptist u students tackle global questions

Hong Kong Baptist University students will attend  Model United Nations (MUN) conferences in Boston and  Beijing. Fourteen  will debate and negotiate  international issues at the Harvard National MUN conference in Boston from February 16 to 19. A team of six will take part in the Harvard World MUN in Beijing between March 27 and 31.
