People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals told us last week that Macau duo Soler has joined top rockers The Vines, Franz Ferdinand and Meg White of the White Stripes in creating a Valentine's Day card for their pet welfare campaign. The idea was for each band to personalise a blank card on the theme of 'Have a Heart for Animals', and that card would eventually be sold on eBay to support the animal rights group. But when we logged on to the site ( http://www.peta2.com/OUTTHERE/o-thevines.asp ) there was no mention of local rockers Dino and Julio Acconci (above). That's not a very ethical treatment of Asian musicians. 'The site is done in the States but Soler will be there soon along with all the other artists from around the world who've contributed a card,' says Peta's local rep, Andrew Butler. 'There will also be other local artists contributing cards, too, but until we actually receive their cards, I'm loath to release the names. However, I can say Jackie Chan will be making a card.' We hope he won't have to wait long. V-Day is tomorrow!
