Dianthus has been chosen as the theme flower for next month's Hong Kong Flower Show 2006.
The annual extravaganza will be held from March 3 to 12 at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay from 9am to 9pm daily.
Dianthus are annuals, biennials and perennials, with about 300 species occurring in Europe and Asia, including Hong Kong.
This year's event will showcase exotic flowers, landscapes and floral art displays presented by more than 180 organisations. About 300,000 flowers will be on display. Fringe activities will include music and dance performances, green talks and floral art demonstrations. Games will also be organised during the show.
Tickets cost $7 (children and students) and $14 (adults), and are available at the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's district leisure services offices, as well as other venues with Leisure Link services. They can also be bought at the gate.
