Samsung SGH-Z150: Samsung is following closely behind Motorola by targeting mobile phone enthusiasts who believe that thin is in. Motorola has found a wide following for its super-slim RAZR and SLVR models. Samsung is aiming to capture a fat slice of the market with the SGH-Z150, which is only 9.8mm thick - outslimming the SLVA by 1.3mm and the RAZR by 4mm. The Z150 is also 3G-enabled and supports a host of multimedia functions. (Price: to be determined)

Olympus Mju 720SW: Olympus' Mju camera series are known for their ability to withstand water and shock, but the new 720SW goes a step further. This digital model not only keeps out rain, but is waterproof to a depth of 3 metres underwater. You can also drop the 720SW from a height of 1.5 metres without damaging it. Features include 7.1-megapixel imaging, 3X optical zoom, 6cm LCD screen and Olympus' Bright Capture technology for taking pictures in dim light. (Price: about $3,600)

Nintendo DS Lite: A big difference between Sony's PlayStation Pro and the Nintendo DS is that the latter is bulkier and less sleek. Nintendo has revamped the DS platform with DS Lite, shaving off a third of the bulk and 20 per cent of the weight from the original DS. The new unit has most of the features of its predecessor, but is a big improvement in terms of looks and portability. The DS Lite is scheduled to be released in Japan early next month. (Price: about $1,300)
