John Millen

Grey Arthur is not a very successful ghost. He does not know how to do what ghosts should do. Any attempts he makes at haunting always end in disaster and he is a laughing-stock among all the other ghosts he knows.

Arthur would give anything to be a successful ghost, but it's a hopeless goal. However, there is one spooky thing that he can do very well. Arthur can hear the sound of human unhappiness. One day, he hears a distressing call from a human boy who is being bullied at school, and this hits home with Arthur.

He decides to seek out this boy and become his invisible friend and sort out his unhappy life. At last, Arthur has found something which he knows he can do.
