DOUBLE world championship gold medallist Li Fai has vowed to go for further glory at next year's Asian Games in Hiroshima - providing her employers allow her time off to train.
Movie stuntwoman Li returned with the Hong Kong squad from a successful trip to Kuala Lumpur, where the territory collected two golds, three silvers and four bronze medals to finish third overall behind China and Russia.
Although attending the Games should not pose a problem, the 24-year-old Hong Kong Sports Institute Scholarship athlete hopes her movie company bosses will allow her at least two months off to train for the Asian Games next September.
''I have already taken several months off to train for the World Championships and I just hope my movie company will continue supporting me,'' she said.
''Because I'm under contract with them, I have a lot of work coming up. Next month, I have to travel to Shenzhen, Beijing and Guangzhou to shoot several movies. I really don't know whether I will be able to get time off,'' she said.
Li, who won gold in the cudgel and changquan and a bronze in the sword in Kuala Lumpur, said the world standard of wushu had risen dramatically.
