Pupils from the Alliance Primary School in Kowloon Tong get stuck into pizzas they made themselves at a cooking class run by the Typhoon Club, which publishes a monthly education magazine. Forty students attended the course, which introduced them to various culinary delights and offered some English tips along the way. In addition to Grappa's Spaghetti Factory in North Point, they also visited the Swire Coca-Cola bottling factory in Sha Tin and the Tandoor Indian Restaurant in Central. Typhoon Club publisher Mark Cowley said: 'Introducing students to different tastes and flavours is a great way to build English vocabulary.' He said students experienced the joys of food in the morning and wrote about their experiences in the afternoon. Their work would be edited and published in a 16-page magazine. Typhoon Club and Spaghetti Factory will be launching a one-hour afternoon cooking and English course from March 18. Telephone 2573 8443 for further information.
