GAMECO adds jobs in training

TO strengthen its technical and maintenance training, Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Co (GAMECO) has created four senior posts.

Ken Russell, previously head of GAMECO's training department, has been appointed director of maintenance.

James Shiner, a veteran of the aviation industry for 30 years, has been brought in from the United States as quality control and engineering director.

Wan Fook-chuen has moved from Singapore Airlines to become training manager.

And Phillip Jones has been brought in from Morris Airlines in the US to become manager of GAMECO's material department.

Bob Menke, GAMECO general manager, said: ''Aviation in China will grow 30 per cent this year and GAMECO plans to stay ahead of this growth.''
