After more than a decade as one of Korea's leading onscreen bachelors, Cha Tae-hyun is finally ready to tie the knot.
He will marry his long-time girlfriend in June. And, at 29, the star realises his days of playing a high school student may be over.
Cha hit the big time five years ago with the romantic comedy My Sassy Girl, in which he played a man beaten up by his girlfriend.
More recently, in the tearjerker Sad Movie, he plays an unemployed young man who tries to impress his ex-girlfriend. His character sets up an unusual business that helps people split up with their partner when they are too afraid to do it themselves.
His latest movie, My Girl & I, is similar to the weepy and popular Japanese hit Crying Out Love, In the Centre of the World.
Cha plays Su-ho, a clumsy schoolboy who falls in love with his beauty queen classmate, played by Song Hye-gyo. Their romance - cut short by a tragic illness - proves to be the most beautiful and unforgettable love of his life.
