LARGE numbers of enquiries have been received for office space in a major commercial building in Yau Ma Tei prior to the formal marketing launch this month, illustrating the strength of the local market, according to Vigers. The favourable response to the Tung Nam Commercial Centre - next to the Yau Ma Tei MTR station - reflected the buoyant leasing market in the retail and office sectors of Kowloon, said Vigers executive director Wilson Nei. ''Rents for prime office space in Tsim Sha Tsui have continued to accelerate in recent months so tenants are having to relocate to other convenient areas along the MTR route,'' he explained. ''As a result, good quality office buildings in Yau Ma Tei and Mongkok have become very much sought after by the tenants.'' The 22-storey building, which has been developed by Aimsglory Investments Limited with Vigers as its sole leasing agent, is due for completion this month. Tung Nam Commercial Centre, which is managed by Palico Management Limited, offers office space ranging from 646 per square feet to 2,400 sq ft with sea views at rentals from $23 to $26 per sq ft.
