MANY NEW OR revamped tourist attractions will open in Hong Kong in the next few years and this will create many job opportunities.
Attractions include Asia's largest man-made wetland park in Tin Shui Wai, the revitalised Ocean Park and the Ngong Ping 360 project on Lantau Island. Job opportunities range from frontline staff to back-office management positions.
Cable car company Skyrail-ITM (Hong Kong) is working on the Ngong Ping 360 project and is leading the pack in looking for employees. The firm launched a recruitment drive late last year. Last month it stepped up hiring of frontline operations staff, including Skyrail operators, reservations and ticketing, retail, entertainment, guest services and maintenance staff.
Ngong Ping 360 is looking for customer-focused candidates with guest service experience.
The project includes a 5.7km cable car, a Chinese village and cultural and historical activities such as the Ngong Ping Tea House, Walking with Buddha and the Monkey's Tale Theatre.
The 25-minute cable car ride will offer some of the most stunning views of the Big Buddha, Tung Chung Valley, North Lantau Country Park, Hong Kong International Airport and the South China Sea.
