Imagine watching the football World Cup on this widescreen television. Last week, Seoul-based LG.Philips LCD unveiled a 100-inch thin film transistor liquid crystal display, the largest such panel in the world. Developed at the company's P7 fabrication line in Paju, the panel is 1.5 times bigger than the largest available LCD television to date - an 82-inch model. It is also about the same size as the largest plasma display panel in the market. The LG.Philips LCD panel is based on its proprietary copper interconnect technology, which guarantees high-definition picture quality with no distortion or jitter. It offers a 180-degree viewing angle and 6.22-million pixel resolution. The LCD panel is 2.2 metres wide and 1.2 metres high.
