Chance to work with pop star

Lilian Goh

Local teenagers showed how creative they can be when they took part in a music video production competition recently.

The 'Innovation, Technology, Music ... Present Love' competition was launched in November by Teen Power of Radio Television Hong Kong and Microsoft Hong Kong.

The idea was to encourage young people to realise their potential with the help of technology. Participants were required to make a music video featuring one of three songs provided by RTHK Teen Power. They were also invited to a free film-making workshop to build up their technical knowledge.

About 30 youngsters took part in the competition. The ten best entries in each division were put on the Teen Power website for public voting.

By clinching the title in the senior division - 13 to 25 age group - Cathay Tsang Ka-fei, 21, from City University of Hong Kong, will get the chance to make a music video with pop singer Jade Kwan Sum-yin next month. The final result will also appear on the Teen Power website.

Ms Tsang also wins an internship programme at Microsoft Hong Kong in the summer, which will provide her with some valuable working experience.

The champion of the junior division - ages from six to 12 - went to eight-year-old Kwan Hiu-lam of STFA Ho Yat Tung Primary School.
