You've turned a specially built, glass MTR compartment into a mobile art space. What's the idea behind the project?

Freelance artist Wong Tin-yan:

'Having seen an exhibition I staged at the Kwai Tsing Theatre recently, the MTR asked me to take part in its Art Train project.

'I teamed up with my friend Ko Siu-hong - we're both fine art graduates of the Chinese University of Hong Kong - and came up with several large sheets of graphic prints to cover the metallic panels of the carriage.

'We created an installation featuring a crocodile and an ox made of industrial wooden planks/cardboard or pallets, which is placed inside the glass compartment.

'The reason we created a crocodile and ox is because ngok and ngau rhyme with 'spaced out' in Cantonese colloquialism, which kind of sums up the state most passengers are in when waiting for their train to arrive.
